Events in Pahrump include the annual Liberty Festival over Independence Day, the High Desert Shorts International Film & Music Festival in late May, the summertime Saturday Farmers Market, the annual Pahrump Film Festival and the Pahrump Fair & Festival held in September.

The Town of Pahrump maintains the facilities at three area parks, including Ian Deutch Memorial Park, Petrack Park, and Simkins Park. The parks offer a variety of facilities including sports fields and courts, playgrounds, BBQ and picnic areas, skating park, and the Pahrump Town Community Swimming Pool. Residents can retreat to the Spring Mountains that provide a forested, spring-fed oasis for hunting, mountain biking, horseback riding, cool mountain springs, picnicking, rock climbing, wildlife and wildflower viewing, and camping.

The populace can sip on the area’s finest wines at Pahrump Valley Winery or check out a band at Reynolds Amphitheatre on the Great Basin College campus.
Education
Students of Pahrump are served by the Nye County School District, which is comprised of 18 elementary, middle and high schools. Pahrump area students attend Floyd Elementary, Hafen Elementary, J.G. Johnson Elementary, Manse Elementary, Mt. Charleston Elementary, Rosemary Clarke Middle School or Pahrump Valley High School. Higher education is provided by the Great Basin College, the Community College of Southern Nevada, and the University of Nevada – Las Vegas, to name a few.
